Kenton County's annual Spring Clean Up is back! Kenton County residents (proof of residency is required) can dispose of a variety of household items for free throughout the two-day event. Here's what you need to know.
Locations:
Kenton County Public Works (420 Independence Station Road, Independence 41051)
- Tires and Appliances accepted, only at the KCPW Location
- Open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. both days
Piner Elementary (2845 Piner Ridge Road, Morning View, 41063)
- Tires and appliances NOT accepted at this location.
- Open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on April 25 and 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on April 26
Accepted Items:
- Appliances ($25 Fee for Freon containing appliances)
- Mattress/box springs (Limit two per household)
- Yard debris
- All Electronics (anything with a power cord) TVs, Monitors, Etc.
- Vehicle and rechargeable batteries
- All fluids (Oil/Gas) - Must be Removed from lawn equipment or will be rejected.
- All Scrap Metal

Not Accepted:
- Hazardous Materials
- Pesticides
- Paint/Stains (Ask about the Free Paint Hardeners)
- Liquid Waste
- Fire Extinguishers
- Tanks/Cylinders/Propane Tanks
- Oil and Antifreeze
- Fluorescent Bulbs
- Shingles
- Concrete, Brick, or Dirt.
- No junk vehicles (including boats)
- UHAULS Full of household furniture (clean-outs)
*Kenton County Public Works has the right to refuse any and all items transported to Public Works for disposal.*
Businesses (including side auto/construction/junk removal businesses) will be turned away.
For Safety and Litter Prevention, please cover all open loads with a tarp and strap down loose items
Participants are required to unload their vehicle.
