Dr. Jon Draud is currently serving his second term as Kenton County Commissioner since being elected in 2010 and most recently in 2014. Prior to his involvement on the Fiscal Court, Dr. Draud dedicated over 50 years of his professional career to working in the education field. During this time he served in a variety of positions that include teaching at Covington Holmes High School, Principal at Covington Third District and Lockland Middle School in Ohio, Superintendent at Ludlow Independent School District, Adjunct Associate Professor at Xavier University, Director of University Partnerships at Northern Kentucky University, and Kentucky Commissioner of Education.
In addition to his education service, Jon’s former civic involvement includes serving 5 years on Crestview Hills City Council and 10 years as a Kentucky State Legislator. Throughout his career he has received numerous awards and honors for his public service. A number of these awards include the Paul Mason Legislative Advocate for Children Award from the Kentucky Parent Teacher Association, Walter R. Dunlevy/Frontiersman Award from the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, Kids First Advocacy Award from the Kentucky School Boards Association, Distinguished Citizenship Award from the Licking Valley Girl Scouts, and Outstanding Legislator from the Northern Kentucky Area Development District.
Jon and his wife Beverly Ann reside in Edgewood and have three children and six Grandchildren.
