Bromley-Crescent Springs Road Reconstruction

CR 1316 (Bromley-Crescent Springs Road) – from Anderson to Amsterdam Road -    Traffic will be impacted by geotechnical drilling crews and equipment performing preliminary investigations for roadway design on Bromley Crescent Springs Road.  Lane closures controlled by flaggers can be expected starting February 12th, after 8:30 AM, Monday through Friday for approximately 3 weeks.  Motorists should watch for crews, equipment, flaggers and expect short delays.  Motorists should exercise caution when travelling the work zone.

Bromley-Crescent Springs Road (CR 1316) Reconstruction - Phase I
Anderson Road to (Short) Amsterdam Road

Kenton County

About the Project

Phase I of the Bromley-Crescent Springs Road Reconstruction Project begins at the intersection of Anderson/Beechwood Road with Bromley Crescent Springs Road at Clocktower Way. The total length of the project is approximately 0.77 miles.

The purpose of the project is to improve safety, existing roadway geometry, and provide pedestrian and bicycle access through this section of the corridor. The existing road has narrow lanes, no shoulders and numerous alignment deficiencies that do not meet current design criteria. Also, this corridor may be utilized by travelers seeking alternate routes while the Brent Spence Bridge Project is underway, increasing the need for these proposed upgrades.

Preliminary design has been completed for two new alternates. Both alternates include:

  • A new 2-lane road for Bromley Crescent Springs Road with 11' lanes and curb and gutter
  • A 10 foot multi-use path
  • New storm drainage system
  • Replacement of the two current bridges currently crossing the tributary to Pleasant Run Creek
  • Roadway lighting

Preferred Alternate

 Preferred Alternate Limits

A Project Team meeting was held on July 28th to establish a preferred alternate for Phase I of the Bromley-Crescent Springs Road project.  Representatives from all stakeholding parties, including the City of Crescent Springs, the City of Fort Mitchell, Kenton County Fiscal Court, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, and GRW Engineers (project consultant) were in attendance.  As depicted conceptually above, the preferred alignment includes:

  • A modern roundabout intersection at Edenderry Drive
  • A traditional three-way intersection at (Short) Amsterdam Road
