Scott Kimmich was appointed Kenton County Deputy Judge-Executive in January of 1999 after 13 years of service in state and local government. As Deputy Judge-Executive, Kimmich serves as the county's chief operating officer and is responsible for carrying out the administrative and executive functions of the office of the Judge-Executive in Judge Drees absence.
Since his appointment in 1999, Deputy Judge Kimmich has twice been appointed to the Justice and Public Safety Committee by the President of the National Association of Counties, and in 2004, was elected to the Board of Directors of the County Executives of America.
Deputy Judge Kimmich began his public service career serving from 1986 to 1992 as Deputy Judge Executive in Boone County and went on to serve from 1992-1999 in the Kentucky Department of Local Government (DLG). Kimmich's assignments at DLG included serving as the departments Deputy Commissioner. During his tenure at DLG, Deputy Judge Kimmich also held the positions of Director of Administrative Services, with the responsibility for personnel and budgeting and Director of Community Development with responsibility for the administrative oversight of more than $180 million in Community Development Block Grant funds. While in state government, Kimmich served on the Board of the Council of State Community Development Agencies in Washington, DC.
In addition to his public service employment, Deputy Judge Kimmich has served as Vice-President of the Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission, as a member of the Northern Kentucky Head Start Advisory Council, President of the Telecommunications Board of Northern Kentucky, President of the Maplewood Childrens Home Advisory Board, and President of the Boone County Junior Chamber of Commerce.
Scott and his wife Jean Scheben-Kimmich live in Erlanger and are the parents of two daughters.
