
Colonel G. Scott Colvin,CJM Detention Center Chief Deputy
Responsible for the day to day operations of the facility and all uniformed officers LTC Colvin has served 17 years in Corrections.Starting his career as an officer at the Kentucky State Reformatory, LaGrange in 1988 LTC. Colvin has held each and every rank with a Custody Division. In 1989 Colvin joined the Louisville Metropolitan Corrections department. Colvin served in various roles within the Custody Division of this largest jail in the state, most notably as: Academy Honor Graduate, Commander of Department Color Guard, Commander of Kentucky's largest Jail Emergency Response Team, Policy Writer, and as Commander of the Training division for this 500 man agency.
Scott resigned from Jefferson County in 2001 as a Captain to accept Terry Carl's offer to join his administration as the Commander for Professional Standards. Mr. Carl tasked Colvin with the implementing, design and development of the state's 3rd formal Jail Officer basic training academy.
Colonel Colvin is the first Kentucky Jail Official to receive the professional designation Certified Jail Manager from the American Jails Association Certification Committee, and is currently the only jail professional in the state so certified. |
