Community Projects
Since 2002, the Kenton County Police Department has dedicated resources toward educating our citizens with the following programs: Kenton County Police Citizens' Academy, Youth Citizens' Academy, Internet Crimes Against Children, Elder Abuse, Identity Theft and Stranger Danger. Our community programs are designed not only to educate but also to build police-community partnerships.
This fall, the Kenton County Police Department formed a partnership with Thomas More College in an effort to provide young men and women of the community with an understanding of the Criminal Justice System. First-year students who register for the "Crime and Society" course will receive three credit hours upon successful completion. Our partnership with Thomas More is believed to be the first of its kind in the tri-state area.
Internet Crimes Community Education
Computers and the Internet are playing a growing role in crime and exploitation in our community. In order to address the issues surrounding computers and crime, the Kenton County Police Department has joined the nationwide Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. In addition to dedicating a detective to ICAC work on a full-time basis, the department is also proud to offer a number of community education programs.
