Northern Kentucky Senior Games ~ Spring Edition

Pass the word on this to everyone you know who is at least 50 years old and still loves to play! The Northern Kentucky Senior Games ~ Spring Edition, presented by Cardinal Hill of Northern Kentucky, will take place at various venues throughout Northern Kentucky during the week of May 10 ~ 14. Never participated? Call now to get your name on the mailing list and to receive a registration form by mail on April 1. Cost, unless you're competing in Golf or Bowling (where there are some nominal additional fees) ~ for the week of fun and games ~ is just $10! That's right! 10 bucks!
On Monday, everything's happening at the Armory in Ft. Thomas in Tower Park. On-site registration and a continental breakfast will begin at 8:00 am. For those interested, we're introducing a Recreational Walk to get you all warmed up, beginning at 8:10. The Games events will begin at 8:30 am, including Shuffleboard Contest; Basketball Spot Shooting; Basketball Free Throws; Pop-A-Shot; 9-hole Miniature Golf; Billiards Shooting Contest; Corn Hole Toss; Washer Toss; Skittles; Speed Stacking; and Wii! The NKSG torch lighting ceremony, lunch, and awards will follow around 12:00 noon.
On Tuesday, it's 9-hole Golf, Singles Bowling, and Doubles Tennis. 9-hole Golf will take place at World of Sports in Florence with tee times beginning at 8:00 am. There is an optional cart fee of $7 per person, payable at tee time. Participants will be notified with tee times after 1:00 pm on Monday so no need to call the course. Singles Bowling will take place at Walt's Center Lanes in Newport, beginning at 10:00 am. Bowlers ~ There is a one-time fee of $5 for all Bowling events; enter one Bowling event or all, it's just $5! Doubles Tennis will also be happening on Tuesday at Five Seasons in Edgewood, beginning at 12:00 noon.
On Wednesday, it's Pickleball and 18-hole Golf! A Pickleball tournament will be happening at Five Seasons and Boone Aire Golf Course will host the 18-hole Golf portion of the NKSG. Tee times will begin at 8:00 am. Golfers will be responsible for a $12 cart fee per golfer, payable at tee time, required by the course. Participants will be notified of tee times after 1:00 pm on Tuesday. Do not call the course.
On Thursday, Walt's Center Lanes in Newport will host Men's and Women's Doubles and Mixed Doubles beginning at 9:00 am and 12:00 noon, respectively and Five Seasons in Edgewood will host a Mixed Doubles Tennis tournament.
On Friday, Boone Woods in Burlington will be the place to be for all events with registration beginning at 8:30 am and events at 9:00 am. Events will include 3-hole Disc Golf; Golf Chipping; Softball Hitting Contest; Softball Throw; Horseshoe Toss; Football Toss; Spin Casting; and Bocce Ball tournament. Lunch and awards will follow.

Monday directions: The Ft. Thomas Armory is easy to find! From Northern Kentucky, take I-275 East to 471 North. Take Exit 2 (Southgate/Ft. Thomas). Turn right on US 27 and go to the second stop light. Turn left on Grandview Ave. and go to a stop sign. Turn left on S. Ft. Thomas Ave., and go approximately 3/4 mile and turn right on Douglas St. into Tower Park. Turn right at the first stop sign and go 500 feet. The Armory will be on your right. The address is 950 Ft. Thomas Ave., Ft. Thomas, KY 41075.
Friday directions: Boone Woods is also easy to find! From Northern Kentucky, take I-75 West to Florence Exit 181 (KY Rt. 18/Burlington Pike) West approximately 5 miles and turn right on Veterans Way. The address is 6000 Veterans Way, Burlington, KY 41005.
