Kick-Off to Summer Party
June 5, 2007

On Tuesday, June 5 beginning about 5:00 pm, KCP&R will partner with the Kenton County Public Library to present a special Kick-Off To Summer Party!  This year's entertainment guests are a group called Family Time Entertainment, who will present The Science Show (Science and Magic), Cincinnati Zoo's Wings of Wonder, Newport Aquarium's Shark Squad, and a 9-hole mini golf challenge!

The library will use the event to help promote this year's summer reading program, "Summer Smorgasbord", in which adults, teens, and children are invited to participate. Earn great prizes just for reading books this summer! We may even have a visit from the KCPL mascot, Booker!

Entertainment and parking are free!  Northern Kentucky Youth Association will be cookin' up something good and operating a picnic concession starting about 5:30 pm so you can purchase your family's supper right at the park and help out a great cause – NKYA's effort to rebuild ballfields.

It all happens at Middleton-Mills Park.  Directions are easy!  From I-275 , take Exit 79 (Covington-Taylor Mill) and go seven miles south on KY Hwy. 16 to Mills Road.  Turn left on Mills and go about one mile to the park.  The party will be at Shelterhouse 2 – just follow the signs!

It's BYOLC – Bring Your Own Lawn Chair!  A play area, sand volleyball court (beach, or world's largest sandbox, depending on the age of those inside!), horseshoes courts, hiking trails, and a fishing pond are all nearby so you can play or do some exploring, too!  It's the Kick-Off To Summer Party!  See you there!

Call Kenton County Recreation at (859) 525-PLAY (7529) to see how you can help – we are always in need of volunteers and funding sponsors for our programs!

Remember, for news of upcoming programs, activities, and events to be held in Kenton County's parks, call the Recreation office at (859) 525-PLAY (7529).
