Holding Time For Shelter Animals

 Stray dogs 6 months and older must be held 5 days. (This is a state law.) 

 Stray pups must be held 3 days. (This is a county policy.) 

 Stray cats and kittens are be held 3 days. (This is a county policy.) 

 Owner given up animals have no set time they must be held. They become property of the county as soon as they are signed over.
